DOING IT WRONG. This bullshit presentation they gave is exactly the same as all these other stop smoking campaigns – kids don’t care about the facts, or pictures of rotting teeth, because none of it takes away the adult image of smoking that it has because we slap age limits on it.

@carcassette Is your comment trying to argue smoking isn’t bad? They should exaggerate everything to do with smoking because it is a dirty habit that too many kids are getting involved in.

He has been brainwashed like many people- he should do some constructive reading on the subject. If he’s such a saintly philanthropist maybe he should worry more about the amount of SALT, SUGAR and FAT in the food that children are given by their parents.

Also, whilst I don’t necessarily disagree with the “evils of big tobacco” stories, let us not forget that “quit smoking” products such as nicotene patches now account for a multi-billion pound industry.

Pharmaceutical companies who make such products are every bit as cynical and evil (if not moreso) as tobacco companies.

I wonder if you propose the ban of public consumption and sake of alcohol? It’s just as dangerous a drug.

And, for the record, I am straight edge and have no vested interest.

If you want to help people stop smoking then fair enough. I’m an ex-smoker and I’m glad I quid. However, the sort of legislation discussed in this video is a disgusting violation of civil liberties.

There has NEVER been any substantial evidence to prove that passive smoking is harmful. In fact, anti-tobacco campaigners recently funded a huge research project into the question and, upon discovering that results suggested that passive smoking has little effect, they withdrew their funding.
